My Successful Licentiateship Panel

Friday, October 30th, 2009

Here at last are the images which earned me my LSWPP qualification recently. All 20 images have to achieve a Pass level for the qualification to be awarded, so it is really pleasing to have been successful. A lot of time and work have gone into improving my skills so it’s great to have made it!

This does not mean I can now rest on my laurels. Far from it. I fully intend to keep on raising my game and the Associateship qualification beckons! It will take a year or two but watch this space…

Your comments on my panel are very welcome and I will apprecfiate your taking the time to do so.

Thanks for looking

Fliss & Urim’s wedding – a tribute from the USA!

Thursday, October 29th, 2009

Yesterday, I received this wonderful email from the US relative of a bridesmaid at my last wedding – Fliss & Urim’s. What a lovely email and what a charming gentleman!

“A beautiful wedding, with such beautiful pictures that promise a rich and rewarding life together. You don’t know me, but I’m an uncle of Lucretia Norman Ray, who’s in your wedding pictures along with her children Toby and Isabel. Lovely, lovely, lovely.”

It’s great when people appreciate your work!

Pete Welsby LSWPP !!

Tuesday, October 20th, 2009

I know I’m just showing off but I heard today that a panel of 20 of my wedding photographs has been assessed by 3 judges (all highly qualified and experienced photographers) as being worthy of Licentiate status. This is the first qualification level in my professional body, the Society of Wedding & Portrait Photographers.

As regular readers of my blog will know, I devote a lot of time & effort to constant training and practice, because I believe that continuing professional development is vital. It is also important in retaining a sense of inspiration and freshness, which then comes through in my work. I am passionate about offering the highest standards of service to my clients, which is of course the primary reason to keep moving forward.

When I receive my written report & certificate, I will post the panel for you to see the images yourself.

Thanks for looking!

And a message from Anoush

Thursday, October 15th, 2009

Well, this is a perfect day! First I had Danielle’s lovely message and now I’ve received the following words from Anoush, whose fab wedding I photographed a few weeks ago (images from both weddings are shown below!) Anoush, thank you for your kind words – and thank you for giving me the joy of shooting yours & Nick’s beautiful wedding.

Pete, I love looking at your new photos on facebook and can’t wait to see our final wedding albums to be made. It was the hardest mission to accomplish – to choose just 75 photos out of all those wonderful ones we have, but i tried my best.

Message from Danielle

Just received the following email from the lovely Danielle. If you ever wondered why anyone would want to be a wedding photographer, look no further! Thanks, Danielle. It was an absolute joy to cover your wedding and it would be a privilege to be a part of your family! xx

“Had a look at the photos and they are fantastic! I dont know how I’m going to choose! Thank you again for everything on the day you were both fab and like part of the family. Everyone has said the photos are amazing – we are all really pleased. Thanks, Danielle”
