Wedding Guests

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

We have recently introduced a new service at our weddings – a “photo-booth”. At the couple’s request we set up a set of studio lights in a suitable corner at the reception and invite both the couple and their guests to have a portrait taken. This is not a stuffy formal portrait though! We try to make it as much fun as possible – as I think the following samples from our last 2 weddings will show.

We would be glad to see what you think of these light-hearted photoshoots.

As ever, thanks for looking & take care.

Hannah & Stephen

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

Hannah & Stephen decided to go for a Christmas/New Year wedding so the very cold afternoon of 29th December saw their family & friends gathering at St Peter & St Paul’s in Crosby for a beautiful service conducted by Hannah’s uncle, the Bishop of Norwich. The church was special to us too, as this was the setting for the wedding of Phil & Lisa, our son & daughter-in-law 18 months ago! As a complete aside, they are expecting our first grandchild in March.

Hannah & Stephen then moved on to their the reception in the CHET Centre in Little Crosby, a fab and quite unique location with a ‘baronial hall’ among its many attractions. The venue sounds a bit uninspiring if you hear it described but it is truly lovely and a great setting for a wedding. One to be aware of if you are Merseyside based. Anyway, here’s few images of the happy couple and their guests.

Hannah & Stephen – thank you for inviting us to play a part in your wedding. It was a real joy and we wish you every blessing for a long, healthy & happy married life.

Fliss & Urim

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

On a late afternoon in October, I had the privilege of photographing the long-awaited wedding of Fliss & Urim. They had been waiting several years for approval of Urim’s immigration and at long last it came through, so it was a particularly emotional day. However, it was also relaxed, informal & a lot of fun! Thanks for asking me to shoot your big day, guys, and best wishes for a long, happy and blessed marriage.

Here’s a sample of photos from the day. As with my other weddings, the ‘full set’ can be seen via my website buy following the links to “Recent Weddings”. For Fliss & Urim, select Dabrushi UF.

Charlie Edwards

Monday, January 18th, 2010

On our latest MMOS day with “The Big Dog”, Damian set us the task of preparing and shooting our own concept with the gorgeous Miss Charlie Edwards (website pending) – in 10 (yes, that is ten) minutes!

Charlie had several choices of costume to choose from to help us decide what to shoot and I decided to go with 2 quick ideas, using 2 of her outfits. Her little military-style jacket gave me the idea of asking Charlie to salute. For the other image, I was inspired by Charlie’s lovely auburn hair. It reminded me of an old picture I had seen of Jerry Hall photographed by Lord Lichfield. So, with 5 minutes to go, I tried to emulate Lichfield, whilst being observed by McGillicuddy – a surfeit of photographic Lords!!

Anyway, I was pleased with the results, although I know that I should really have used more lights to ensure a clean white background and maybe a hair light too, but time was against me. I, therefore, used just one light fired through a DMLS Beauty Dish.

Let me know what you think. Whatever you think of my concept, I’m confident you will be impressed by my model!
